In the Spring of 2009, based on recommendations from a committee comprised of parents, faculty and administrators, The Pine Plains Central School District Board of Education decided on a change in grade level configurations for its two elementary schools – Cold Spring and Seymour Smith.  As of September of the 2010-11 school year, the Cold Spring Early Learning Center will house grades kindergarten, first and second, while the Seymour Smith Intermediate Learning Center will house grades third, fourth and fifth.  In addition, services for children who have more intensive learning or English language needs will now be available at both schools.
